Job Overview

This leadership role sits at the core of global clinical trial execution, overseeing field monitoring operations across a defined geographic area. You will be responsible for driving the performance, quality, and consistency of clinical site monitoring activities while ensuring alignment with global clinical operations objectives. The role combines strategic oversight with hands-on leadership of high-performing CRA teams and vendor partners. You will play a key role in optimizing site engagement, improving patient recruitment, and ensuring trials are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Operating in a fast-paced, science-driven environment, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders to advance clinical development programs. Job Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop CRA Managers, CRAs, and FSP/vendor partners to ensure high performance, strong engagement, and continuous capability development
  • Drive clinical trial execution across assigned area, ensuring delivery against enrollment targets, timelines, budgets, and quality expectations
  • Design and implement field monitoring strategies that enhance site engagement, patient recruitment, and operational efficiency
  • Oversee resource allocation in collaboration with internal leaders and vendor partners to ensure optimal support across clinical trial portfolios
  • Ensure compliance with ICH-GCP guidelines, regulatory requirements, SOPs, and internal quality standards while proactively managing operational risks
  • Monitor field performance through KPIs, dashboards, and quality metrics to identify gaps and drive continuous improvement
  • Lead oversight of monitoring quality activities, including accompanied visits, coaching, and corrective action planning
  • Collaborate with global and regional clinical operations stakeholders to support end-to-end trial delivery and innovation initiatives

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific or health-related field; advanced degree (MSc, PhD, or equivalent) preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in clinical study management with progressive leadership responsibilities
  • 5+ years of experience managing direct reports in clinical operations or related environments
  • Strong expertise in clinical trial monitoring, site management, and clinical quality compliance
  • Proven experience working with vendors and FSP models in global clinical trial environments
  • Deep knowledge of clinical development processes, ICH-GCP standards, FDA/EMA regulations, and global compliance frameworks
  • Demonstrated ability to lead distributed teams, solve complex operational challenges, and drive accountability
  • Strong experience in clinical trial budgeting, resource planning, and operational performance management
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills in a global matrix environment
